MCHS Girls Soccer Season Begins


The 2012 season is underway for the Macon County High School Girls Soccer team. They opened the first week of the season with two wins and one loss.

On Monday the 20th the ladies from MCHS hosted Livingston Academy. Senior Katie Thomas started the season in fine style with a hat trick of goals in the game and was joined by goals from fellow Seniors Ashley Gregory and Whitney Whitlow. MCHS starts the season off with a 5-0 blowout of Livingston.

On Tuesday the 21st, MCHS traveled to Sparta to take on White County. Senior Terra Pryor was the only Tigerette to manage to score but it was enough to eack out a 2-1 victory. Goalie Whitney Wilburn came up with 12 big saves to help preserve the win.

On Wednesday the 22nd Macon hosted the Owls of Smith County. Whitlow and Thomas each scored a goal but it just wasn’t enough to stop the avalance of kicks from the the Owls. Macon drops its first game of the season by a final score of 2-6.

This week MCHS travels to White House on the 28th at 7 p.m. and hosts Greenbrier on the 30th at 6 p.m.
