My View from the Press Box – Trousdale County

The Tigers fall to 0-2 on the season with a loss to Trousdale County 35-10 on the Creekbank. 

On the 1st play of the game, Kenyon Harper went 89 yards to give TC a 6-0 lead with a failed extra point try.  TC’s Seth Calhoun scored on a 16 yard run with 10:23 left in the 2nd quarter and the 2pt play was good by Harper and TC led 14-0.  Aaron Carter put the Tigers on the scoreboard with an 83 yard punt return with 3:06 remaining in the half.  Zach Ghazi added the PAT and the Tigers trailed 14-7.  Jacket Dillon Burnley scored just before the half, capping a six play 76 yard drive, while the extra point kick by Taidrian Seay was good.  Halftime score was 21-7. 

Following a scoreless 3rd quarter, TC scored with 10:36 to go as Demarius Smith rushed for a 9 yard gain. Extra point kick by Harper was good to make the score 28-7.  The Tigers mounted a 14 play drive which ended in a Zach Ghazi field goal from 30 yards out with 5:21 to go to make the score 28-10 Jackets .  TC answered right back with a 44 yard TD run by Calhoun to make the final score 35-10. 

Aaron Carter was 9 for 20 for 82 yards passing.  Shane Hesson led the Tigers with 13 carries for 45 yards.  Carter led the team with 11 tackles while Caleb Pedigo had 9 solo stops. 

The Tigers will host the Goodpasture Bobcats this Thursday night at Pat Parker Field at 7:00.  This will be the first home game of the season for the Tigers as well as the first district game.  Tailgating for booster members will begin at 5:30 in the parking lot.  Come out and cheer the Tigers on to victory and “I’ll see you at the game.”
