My View from the Press Box – Sycamore

The Tigers lost their 4th game of the season last Friday night to the Sycamore War Eagles 26-16.  This brings their record to 0-4 for season and 0-2 in district play.


The Tigers scored first on a 24 yard TD run by KJ Kitchens.  The PAT was good by Zach Ghazi and the Tigers led 7-0.  Sycamore tied the game on the ensuing possession on a 4 yard TD run by the QB Clanton, 7-7.  On the last play of the 1st qtr, Aaron Carter scored on a 24 yard keeper around the left side, PAT was no good and the Tigers led 13-7.  Dillon Bright added 2 TD’s in the 2nd quarter to give Sycamore the lead at the half, 20-13. 

Midway through the 3rd period, Ghazi hit a 27 yard FG to make the score 20-16.  Sycamore’s Rolling scored in the 4th quarter on a 9 yard TD run to seal the win for the War Eagles, 27-16. 

Passing: Carter 5/10/21 yards.  Rushing: Carter 14 carries 56 yards 1TD, Kitchens 11 carries 83 yards 1TD, Hesson 8 carries 28 yards.  Turner 6 carries 56 yards, Gregory 1 carry 3 yards.  Defensively Kitchens and Pedigo led all tacklers with 6 each.  Kowicki, Sircy, And Crabtree had 5 tackles each.  Hollis and Harris had 4 tackles each.  Jones had 3 tackles.  Partin had 2 tackles. 

The Tigers will be at home this Friday night looking to get their first win of the season as they host the Smith County Owls.  This is also Homecoming week for MCHS.  Come and support the Tigers and “I’ll see you at the game.”
