Macon County Cross Country Action
The Macon County Cross Country Teams competed in two meets in the Mid-State this week.
On Tuesday September 18th they traveled to Cookeville and on Saturday September 22nd they competed in the Sharp Springs Invitational.
The MCHS Boys won first place in Cookeville with a total score of 31. Times were: Dylan Meador (1st) 18:49, Jeff Maynard (3rd) 19:13, Ryan Avera (4th) 19:29, Carson Cunningham (11) 20:53, Chris Bullington (12) 21:05, Colton Eden (26) 23:04, Sawyer Baughn (31) 23:53, Tyler Naplen 25:57.
The MCHS Girls also took first on the 18th with a score of 33 points Times were: Katie Hix (1st) 21:40, Katie Swindle (5th) 22:36, Jasmine Chaparro (6th) 22:44, Logan Hernandez (9th) 24:13, Maddy Miller (12) 24:39, Alyssa Givins (13) 24:56, Jessica Seehafer (19) 25:31, Angela Whisenhunt 26:11, Karla Whisenhunt 38:39.
At Sharp Springs the MCHS Boys finished 5th out of nine teams. The times were: Meador (10) 18:45, Maynard (13) 18:59, Avera (23) 19:50, Cunningham (32) 20:37, Bullington (36) 20:51, Baughn (57) 20:51, Eden (58) 22:44, Naplen 22:52, John Case 25:10.
In the Gold Section the MCHS Girls took 1st place again. Times were: Hix (2) 21:23, Swindle (3) 21:48, Chaparro (4) 21:53, Hernandez (8) 22:57, Miller (11) 23:19, Givens (14) 24:11, Seehafer (22) 25:10, A. Whisenhunt 25:11, Abbi Welch 32:48, Karla Whisenhunt 37:19
