RBS Rolls Tri-Cities
The RBS Bulldogs took on Tri-Cities this past Friday September 21st in what some might call “the biggest game of the year,” as it was the homecoming game.
After a full week of fun activities and a parade to celebrate the homecoming you could easily tell it got the boys pumped and ready to go. The fans got there early for the ceremonies and all were on the edge of their seats as the Bulldogs had not won a homecoming game in a few years. As I stated last week Coach Shoulders told me they would be ready to go out and get the homecoming win and that is exactly what they did. Not just a win but a huge defeat, they not only shut Tri-Cities down but beat them by a whopping score of 41-0!!!
As the game started the tension was thick and everybody’s mind was focused on the same thing. Will we win the homecoming? As the game started it was clear to see the boys determination was very high and they would give it all to win this game. They wasted no time putting points on the board and also throwing several hard hits to set the tempo. After forcing Tri-Cities to three and outs the Bulldogs capitalized on most, if not all of them, to complete the game by a score of 41-0.
I caught up with Coach Shoulders after the game and he was very pleased. “This is really the first game we have come out early and started playing, in all the games past it has taken us a while to get going.” He also said “These boys have resilience.”
Fans come out and support your Bulldogs this Friday night September 28th as they will be on the road to face a tough contender the Tigers of Gordonsville High School.
