My View from the Press Box – Greenbrier

The Tigers drop to 0-6 on the season with a loss to the Greenbrier Bobcats 23-14. 

The Bobcats fumbled on the first play of the game and the Tigers recovered at the 13 yard line.  Two plays later, Shane Hesson punched it in from 10 yards out.  Zach Ghazi added the point after and the Tigers led 7-0.  The Bobcats answered with a 12 play 51 yard scoring drive to tie the game at 7-7.  On the last play of the 1st quarter Aaron Carter was sacked for a safety and the Bobcats took the lead 9-0.  Midway thru the 2nd quarter Greenbrier added to their lead after another 12 play 50 yard scoring drive, 16-7.  The Bobcats then stretched their lead to 23-7 after a 3rd quarter touchdown by Elder.  The Tigers’ Shane Hesson scored on a 1 yard TD run on the last play of the game to end an 88 yard 10 play drive to the final score 23-14.  

Passing:  Carter, 4/8/36 yards.  Rushing:  Hesson 15 carries 54 yards 2TD, Carter 10 carries 46 yards, Kitchens 4 carries 1 yard, Turner 3 carries 48 yards.  Receiving:  Kitchens 2 rec. 35 yards, Turner 1 catch 3 yards.  K.J. Kitchens led all tacklers with 9, Kowicki 7, Sircy 6, Carter, Gregory, Hesson, Pedigo, and Lowhorn had 4 each. 

The Tigers travel to Smithville this week to take on the undefeated DeKalb County Tigers.  Come out and support the Tigers and “I’ll see you at the game.”
