My View from the Press Box – White House

10-16mchsfb

The MCHS Tigers fall to 0-8 as the White House Blue Devils secured the district 9AA title with a 35-7 win Friday night at Pat Parker Field.

The Blue Devils scored on their opening possession to take the lead 7-0.  The Tigers struggled offensively and in the 2nd quarter fumbled it away to White House at their 11 yard line.  Three plays later the Blue Devils punched it in and took the lead 14-0.

The Tigers continued to struggle to move the ball as they started the 2nd half with three strait three and out punts, and White House capitalized on the field position scoring 14 more as they stretched their lead to 28-0. Late in the 3rd quarter Caleb Pedigo blocked a field goal attempt by White House.  The Tigers were unable to capitalize and turned it over on downs near midfield.  On the next play Pool and Sabin hooked up for another White House TD which invoked the 35 point mercy rule.  With 4 seconds left in the game the Tigers scored on a 27 yard TD pass from Aaron Carter to Shane Hesson.  Zach Ghazi added the extra point and the final scored was 35-7.

The Tigers travel Livingston this week to take on the 7-1 Wildcats.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., come out and support the Tigers and “I’ll see you at the game.”
