Tigers Drop Final Game to Eagles

10-30mchsfb

The Macon County High School Tigers hosted the Westmoreland Eagles for the final game of the season.

The final home game was also the Senior Night for the boys and girls of the class of 2013.

Tiger faithful had reason to cheer early. The first score of the game came from a blocked Eagle punt by Caleb Pedigo and recovered by Stephen Kowicki. Extra point was good by Zach Ghazi and MCHS led 7-0. Late in the first half the Eagles put together a scoring drive in which MCHS gave the Eagles three first downs, by penalty, on third down. Finally WHS punched it in and the game was tied at half 7-7.

The second half wasn’t as promising. Two Tiger fumbles and a partially blocked punt, all led to points for Westmoreland.  The Eagles pulled away, despite a late fumble recovery returned for a touchdown by Tiger Dillan Tilley, and won by a final score of 34-13.

The Tigers finish the season with a record of 0-10. Even though it is no consolation that every MCHS opponent in the 2012 season will be playing in the playoffs, hats off to the class of 2013. The Tiger faithful will miss seeing you on Friday nights. Congratulations and best of luck to you all.
