Macon County Recognized at State Fair Convention

Macon County was well represented at the Tennessee Association of Fairs Fair Convention held at the Nashville Airport Marriott, January 17-20 – taking home three first place awards, two second place honors and one third place title.

Macon County was awarded first place in the Free Standing Exhibit, Power Point Presentation and Truck Pull Flyer categories, second place in the Scrapbook (AA division) and Hand Pieced & Hand Quilted Quilts categories and third place in the Video category.

Attending the convention from Macon County were fair board members Ray & Peggy Goad, Bill & Sally Wells, Steve & Beverly Walker, Marilyn Murphy, Eddie & Wynona Clayborne, Mike & Shawanna Jenkins, Debbie Mason and Jeff & Debbie Hughes.

State Representative Kelly Keisling also joined fair board members for dinner and the awards presentation held Saturday night.

The Macon County Fair Board would like to thank the following individuals and businesses for their help in making it possible for them to compete at the convention: Wanda Sandifer, Betty Gregory, Marilyn Wheeley, Macon Bank & Trust, Clarissa Brawner, Put it in Print, Linda’s Cakes & Catering, Championship Trophies, Rick Waller, Greg White and Barry Hiett.
