Tiger Baseball Competes in Wilson Co. Invitational

The Macon County Baseball team took part in the Wilson County Invitational this past week in Lebanon. The Tigers dropped three games and picked up one win.

On March 20th Macon faced Wilson Central and lost by a score of 0-3. Larkin Whittemore gave up three unearned runs while Shane Hesson and Hunter Williams had the only hits for the Tigers. MCHS batters struck out 14 times in the 7 inning game.

On March 21st the Tigers lost a close game to Station Camp by a final score of 3-4. Dalton Shrum was the pitcher of record but the Tiger defense committed 4 errors in the game which turned out to be the difference.

On March 23rd Macon played Clarksville in a game that went to extra innings. Jacob McClard and Shane Hesson each collected 2 RBIs but a massive 5 run eighth inning charge was the difference in the contest. Macon lost by a final score of  6-8.

Also on March 23rd Macon played Trousdale County. Johnny Brown pitches a no-hitter and Macon wins by a final score of 12-0. Shane Hesson picks up 3 RBIs and Ian Whittemore get two more RBIs to help propel Macon to the win.

This Week the Tigers play Westmoreland at home on the 27th at 4:30 p.m. and host Smith County on the 29th at 6:30 p.m.
