2013 Macon Coounty Friends of Scouting Breakfast
The 2013 Friends of Scouting Breakfast, held on Wednesday, March 27, in the Sally Wells Building at the Macon County Fairgrounds, raised a total of $18,385 for the Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts of America program.
Table hosts for the breakfast were Russell Brown, Joe Carter, Rick Gann, Anthony Hackett, Shelvy Linville, Ron Powell, Marcus Smith, Johnathan West, Nancy White and Mike Whittemore.
Speakers during the event were Macon County Friends of Scouting Chairman Joe Carter, Troop 405 member Dylan Turner, Walton Trail Finance Chairman Mark Pody, Walton Trail District Chairman Pete Williston and Cumberland University Head Baseball Coach Woody Hunt.
The presentation of colors, pledge of allegiance and invocation were led by Troop 405 members.
In 2012, the Walton Trail district (serving Lebanon, Watertown, Smith, Trousdale, and Macon Counties) served 1,133 youth, tallied a total of 397 adult volunteers and included 13 Cub Scout packs, 15 Boy Scout troops, three Venture Crews, one Sea Scout Ship and two Explorer Posts.
Ten scouts from the Walton Trail district were promoted to Eagle Scouts in 2012 and 810 Merit Badges, 146 Boy Scout Rank Advancements, and 29 Arrow of Light awards were earned by members.
