LADY BULLDOGS LOSE TO WHITWELL IN SOFTBALL 11-3

alt

The Red Boiling Springs Lady Bulldogs had high hopes going into the Cookeville Tournament that they might sneak up on some teams looking past them.

However Whitwell was not one of those teams even though the Lady Bulldogs played better but went down to defeat by a score of 11-3. Tough sledding has been the norm for these young ladies as they give it their all but lady luck seems to be against the Lady Bulldogs so far this season.

The Lady Bulldogs came out of the gate by scoring one run in the top of the first inning as Mackenzie Sadler slapped a single to centerfield and advanced to third base on two wild pitches, scoring on a pass ball to give the Lady Bulldogs something they have not had in a long time-a lead of 1-0. That lead was short lived as Whitwell came back to score early and often as the Lady Bulldogs made way too many errors to keep up with the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Bulldogs would bounce back in the 5th inning by scoring two runs when Jenna Dziekiewicz singled followed by a Sydney West walk. For the second time in the game Makenzie Sadler singled with Dziekiewicz scoring the Lady Bulldogs second run of the game. Kalisha Lynch walked with the bases loaded to force in the Lady Bulldogs third and final run of the game.

The Lady Bulldogs simply can’t get a break and are having trouble getting hits at the right time. Things do not get any better because the Westmoreland Lady Eagles will be waiting to get the Lady Bulldogs while they are struggling and of all teams the Lady Commanders from Friendship Christian will pay their annual visit to the Dog Pound on the 28th.

The weather has played havoc with the schools all thru middle Tennessee and a bunch of rescheduling is going to take place to get these games played. As I talked to Coach Sims about rainouts she said they are going to try and make up as many games as possible.
