MCHS Softball has Busy Week
The Macon County High School Softball Team had a busy week this past week. They played district opponents Sycamore and Goodpasture and played in a holiday tournament over the weekend in Cookeville.
On Wednesday the 27th Macon hosted the Lady Eagles from Sycamore. The Tigerettes had to come from behind and scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to capture the victory in dramatic fashion by a score of 5-4. Kaitlyn Main went 2 for 3 with one key RBI while Jordan Shockley picks up two RBIs in the MCHS victory.
On Thursday the 28th Goodpasture Christian came to town. The Tigerettes fell behind early and just couldn’t seem to get back into sync and they lost by a final score of 1-3. Mary Belton, Kaitlyn Main, and Becca Ballou had hits and Sara Kittrell drove in the only Macon run.
The Tigerettes were set to play in the Macon County Softball Tournament in Cookeville over the Easter weekend. On Saturday Macon faced three different teams in pool play. Macon faced Waubonsie Valley from Aurora, IL and lost 0-12 in four innings. Belton picked up the only hit in the game. Macon played Happy Valley out of Elizabethton and gutted out a 2-0 victory. Shockley went 2 for 3 and she and Kassidy Brooks picked up the RBIs for MCHS. The Tigerettes also faced Creek Wood and lost by a final score of 1-4. Kittrell picks up the RBI, scoring Shockley in the contest.
Following this week the Tigerettes record stands at 7 wins and 5 losses. These girls are set to travel to White House this week and will play in a tournament in Clarksville, TN over the weekend.
