FRIENDSHIP CHRISTIAN ROCKS LADY BULLDOGS IN SOFTBALL

The Friendship Christian Lady Commanders have had one of the best softball programs in the state and some so called experts say they are down this year but don’t tell that to the Lady Bulldogs of Red Boiling Springs who got whitewashed on March 28th by the Lady Commanders 13-0.These kids from Lebanon are talented and have one of the best pitchers in the state as she struck out 12 Lady Bulldogs last Thursday night.

Red Boiling Springs played much better than the score would indicate as they held the Lady Commanders scoreless thru the first 2 innings and trailed only 3-0 going into the sixth inning. The Lady Commanders put one of those crooked numbers on the scoreboard by scoring 6 runs and taking complete command of this game. Friendship scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh inning making the score 13-0 and that was just too much for the Lady Bulldogs to overcome.

The Lady Bulldogs only serious threat came in the bottom of the seventh when Kristen Stacey hit a single followed by a single off the bat of Taylor Coffelt and Shanna Jones but left the runners stranded. The Lady Bulldogs had some great plays on defense when Mackenzie Sadler double a runner of second as did Kalisha Lynch.

The Lady Bulldogs get a week off because of spring break. These kids have been giving all they have and Coach Mims has done a great job and we must remember this is her first year and she will get the job done.I have watched Lady Bulldog Softball for a long time and the program is in good hands.
