alt

The ladies from MCHS split a pair of games this week against Portland and Westmoreland. They hosted the Lady Panthers on the 8th and the Lady Eagles on the 9th.

Portland came to Lafayette having beaten the Tigerettes 5-4 in a game earlier in the season. Portland scored early and kept the lead in what was a close game until the top of the 6th inning. Macon tried to battle back but dropped the contest by a final score of 3-6.

Becca Ballou went 2 for 4 scoring two runs and collecting one RBI. Sara Kittrell also collected two RBIs in the contest. Chelsea Carter gives up only three earned runs on ten hits in seven innings.

On Tuesday the 9th the Lady Eagles traveled to Macon County. MCHS rolled up an 11-0 shut-out on Westmoreland earlier in the season. In this 9AA district contest, Macon scored first but Westmorland had no plans for a repeat shutout, even taking the lead 2-1 in the top of the 2nd inning. However, MCHS would storm back with runs in the bottom of the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings and hold on for the victory by a final score of 8-2.

Jordan Shockley and Clara Howser each go 1 for 3, scoring one run and collecting 2 RBIs apiece. Rachel Shrum, Mary Belton, and Chelsea Carter tally the rest of the RBIs. Chelsea Carter gives up two earned runs on two hits and nabs the victory.

This week the Tigerettes are scheduled to travel to Goodpasture on the 16th and host Greenbrier on Thursday the 18th for two more District 9AA contests.
