RBS LADY BULLDOGS CAPTURE 1ST WIN OF SEASON OVER JCHS 2-1

alt

The celebration lasted well into the night as the Red Boiling Springs Lady Bulldogs won their first game of the season with a very exciting 2-1 victory over the Jackson County Lady Blue Devils.

This big win was watched by the largest crowd of the season and the noise could be heard all the way up to the school. Jackson County is one of the better teams in the mid-state area and you have to play well to beat them and very well is just how the Lady Bulldogs played.

Not only did Pitcher Hannah Smith get her first high school victory but this win was the first for Coach Mims. The high five’s were flying all around because the Lady Bulldogs played an errorless game and deserved this win. Now that they have got the monkey off their back these kids can relax and play some good ball.

The Lady Bulldogs scored their 1st run in the 1st inning as Conner Murphy reached base on a drooped third strike followed by a throwing error on the Lady Blue Devil’s shortstop off the bat of Kalisha Lynch that allowed Murphy to score.

Jackson County came back to tie the game 1-1 in the 3rd inning and the score stayed tied until the bottom of the 5th inning. The Lady Bulldogs scored the winning run on a triple by Sydney West who scored the big run on a error by the Jackson County catcher which allowed the Lady Bulldogs not only the win but a walk off win which is very nice if you have ever been a part of winning a game with a walk off.

For those of you who were there for this historic win you had a big reason to celebrate as much as the kids did because these fans have stayed thru the worst of times and never gave up on these kids and I mean never gave up.

We want to recognize Coach Mims on her first win. What a hard time this coach has had to go thru and to see these kids win their first game will be something she will never forget.
