alt

Friendship Christian came from behind to snatch a victory from the Macon County Softball team.

The Lady Commanders are one of the top ranked programs in Class A in the mid-state.

The Tigerettes got off to a fast start. Scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and one in the bottom of the second, they led the game 3-0 after two innings. Then the Lady Commanders woke up. They scored one in the top of the third, five in the fourth to break the game open, and one in the top of the fifth and sixth innings. The Tigerettes did try to rally scoring one run in the bottom of the sixth but it just wasn’t enough. Final score MCHS 4 Friendship Christian 8.

Becca Ballou went 4 for 4 and scored one run. Mary Belton went 2 for 3 with two RBIs while Sara Kittrell picked up the other two RBIs. Senior Chelsea pitched well enough to win, going all seven innings and giving up 11 scattered hits with only one earned run.

This week the Tigerettes will play two games before the District 9-AA Tournament. They will travel to Trousdale County on Monday the 29th and will travel for a rematch against Friendship on the 30th.  Their District tournament is scheduled to begin on May 1st.
