The Macon County Tigerettes Softball team finished their season and moved into the District 9AA post-season tournament.

They ended the year traveling to Friendship and Trousdale County before playing White House, Goodpasture, and Westmoreland.

On Monday April 29th, MCHS traveled to Trousdale County. This was a close contest until TCHS blew the game wide open with 4 big runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to seal the victory. Chelsea Carter went 2 for 3 scoring one run and collecting 1 RBI. Sara Kittrell had the other RBI. Final Score MCHS 2 TCHS 7.

On Tuesday April 30th, the Tigerettes played at Friendship Christian. Mary Belton was able to collect the only hit for Macon. The Tigerettes committed 3 errors in the game and Friendship goes on to win a 4-0 ballgame.

On Wednesday May 1st, Macon faced White House in the first game of the 9AA tournament. In another close game the Tigerettes come from behind to get the win. Clara Howser and Jordan Shockley got the only hits of the game. Kaitlyn Main and Becca Ballou had the only two RBIs in the game as well. Macon holds onto a 2-1 victory over White House.

On Thursday May 2nd, Macon County played Goodpasture. After falling behind early, Macon managed to tie the game at two all. However, the Cougars roared back in the bottom of the 5th inning to take the lead for good. Mary Belton has a big game going 3 for 3 with both Macon RBIs. Main and Howser had the only other hits. Final score is Macon 2 Goodpasture 5.

Macon would then face Westmoreland in their 5th game in five days. Evidently the Tigerettes woke up some sleeping bats as they pounded the Lady Eagles in the first inning with ten runs. Rachel Shrum goes 2 for 2, Becca Ballou scores three runs, and Belton, Carter, and Howser get 2 RBIs each. The Lady Eagles forfeited the contest in the bottom of the third inning. Macon County wins by a final of 14-1.

The Tigerettes are schedule to play Sycamore on Tuesday May 7th at 5:30 p.m. Their record stands at 15-17 for the season thus far.
