Crash Kills RBS Man Upon Impact
Fifty-seven-year-old William R. Archer, Jr., of Red Boiling Springs, was killed upon impact last Tuesday, May 7, when his van crossed the yellow line as he traveled east on Highway 52, near Westside Elementary School, and struck an oncoming Chevy Avalanche truck head-on.
The driver of the truck, 29-year-old Brant F. Hall, of Hartsville, was treated and released for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
According to the accident report, there were no passengers in either vehicle.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and no alcohol or drugs are believed to be involved.
Investigating officers were Sergeant Ed Crouch, Trooper Terry Seay and CID Ashley Mercer.
Responding to the scene were the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, the Lafayette Fire Department, Macon County EMS, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Macon County Rescue Squad.
