Macon Runners Qualify for Section Finals

Macon County had a number of athletes qualify for the Middle Tennessee Sectional Finals.

The Sectional Finals will be a David Lipscomb on May 14th and 16th for the chance to go to the State meet in Murfreesboro.

MCHS had three girls qualify in the 3200m. Logan Hernandez won the event while Katie Swindle finished 4th and Carmen Rac finished 6th. The 4×100 relay team finished third and set a new school record in 56.59. Brooklyn McClard, Cheyenne Davis, Heaven Love, and Taylor Stafford ran the 4×100. Katie Hix won the 1600m and the 800m. Hernandez qualified in the 800m as well as Jasmine Chaparro.

Other competitors included: Alexis Sarmiento and Jordan Hoskins in the 4x200m, Alisa Givins, Victoria King, and Jade Ellis in the 400m, Taylor Stafford in the 200m, and Angela Whisenhunt and Jessica Seehafer in the 1600m.

Dylan Meador was the only male to qualify for Macon County. He finished 5th in the 400m with a time of 52.61.

John Case, Jacob Boyd, and Dustin Gann competed in the long jump. Carson Cunningham, Colton Eden, Sawyer Baughn, and Ryan Avera ran the 4x800m. Jeff Maynard ran the 300m hurdles while William Sell ran the 100m.
