After winning the district play in game over Westmoreland, the Tigers made a quick exit from the district 9AA tournament. Macon dropped two closely contested games with White House and Greenbrier.

The #3 seeded Macon County met the #2 seeded White House at White House on Monday, May 6th. The Blue Devils took an early 1-0 lead and the Tigers tied the game 1-1. However, the error monster reared its ugly head as Macon makes two costly mistakes which result in six White House runs in the 6th inning. Final score was Macon 1 White House 7.

With the loss Macon would face the #5 seeded Greenbrier, who lost to Goodpasture 11-1 the previous day. In the win-or-go-home contest, the Tigers just couldn’t get their bats going. Greenbrier pieced together some timely hits and managed to score two separate runs. The Tigers had some opportunities but could not put runs on the board. Final score was MCHS 0 Greenbrier 2.

Following the championship game, Macon County had some players named to the All-District teams. Austin Taft and Austin Craighead were named first team All-District. Ryan Craighead, Dalton Shrum, Shane Hesson, and Tyler Kemp were named to the second team.

Second year head coach Juan Clariday ends his sophomore season with a record of 16-11 on the season and a third place finish in the district in the regular season.
