Rachel Tuck wins 2013 National American Miss Tennessee
Rachel Tuck has won the 2013 National American Miss Tennessee at the stage pageant held Monday, July 29th in Nashville.
She was selected over approximately sixty-seven other young ladies, aged 16 to 18, from all across the state. She is the daughter of Melanie and Kendall Tuck, of Lafayette.
The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s greatness and encouraging its future leaders. Each year, the National American Miss Pageants award over 1.5 Million dollars in cash, scholarships, and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide. There are five divisions: teen, junior teen, pre-teen, junior pre-teen, and princess.
Participants are judged on a number of criteria. Each contestant is scored based on: a six judge interview (30%), a thirty second personal introduction (30%), formal wear poise and appearance (30%), and participating in a community involvement project (10%). As the state winner Rachel was awarded a $1000 scholarship and entry into the national pageant to be held in Anaheim, California during Thanksgiving week later this fall.
“I am grateful for all my sponsors and everything that’s been done for me.” Rachel also wanted to offer her time and talents in assisting with any community event in our area. You may contact her family at Rachel.tuck32@ymail.com.
