Vote to Save the Macon County Drive-In

The American Honda Motor Company hopes to preserve this iconic part of American car culture, so the company has taking the first step by starting a drive-in fund and donating five digital projectors. Your vote decides where they go.

What can you do to prevent the Macon Drive-In from ‘going black?’ Simply vote for the Macon Drive-In to receive one of the five projectors being donated by Honda at: ProjectDriveIn.com/vote_16 or text VOTE16 to 444999. No purchase or payments of any kind is necessary to vote. Standard message and data rates may apply if voting by text.

Voting ends on September 9, 2013, and one vote, per voting method, can be submitted per day.

The Macon Drive-In, located at 3570 Scottsville Rd. in Lafayette, TN, was first opened in 1950 and has been showing movies every weekend all summer since.

Throughout the years the drive-in has been under the ownership of only 4 different families – Will Burt and “Ma” Haney as the longest owners and GW and Paulette Warner as the current owners.

The Macon Drive-In has proven to be a wonderful place to bring your family and friends to enjoy a double feature with at least one first-run movie at a great price and legend has it, we have the best burgers in the county.

“The Macon Drive-In was declared a historical landmark in our community on June 23, 2003 and it would be a travesty if we had to close our shutters for the last time,” said Paulette Warner. “We would like to thank you in advance for voting to keep our drive-in “out of the dark”.”
