My view from the Press Box – MCJH vs. DeKalb

The MCJH Tigers are 3-0 after beating the Saints of DeKalb County Middle School 40-0 last Thursday night in Smithville. 

The Tigers scored with 4:44 left in the 1st qtr on 39 yd TD pass from Seth Carlisle to Noel Martinez. The 2pt conversion failed and the Tigers led 6-0.  Devin Dillehay scored on a 46 yd TD run with 7:17 left in the 2nd qtr, Carlisle connected with Dillehay for the 2pt play, Tigers led 14-0.  Carson Brawner tackled a DeKalb ball carrier for a safety giving the Tigers a 16-0 lead.  Carlisle ran 18 yards for TD with 4:27 left in the 2nd.  The 2pt conversion was good on a pass from Carlisle to Brawner.  Tigers led 24-0.  With 1 minute to go in the 1st qtr Carlisle got a 40 yd pick six.  Cole Carnahan added the 2pt conversion.  The halftime score was 32-0.  The Tigers scored once more in the 3rd qtr on a 45 yd TD run by Dillehay.  Brian Swindle added the 2pt play.  The Tiger Defense had another stellar performance in the shut out win holding the Saints to minus 16 yards of total offense. 

Passing:  Carlisle 1/2/39yds/TD, Dillehay 0/1.  Receiving:  Martinez 1/39/TD.  Rushing:  Dillehay 4/93yds/2TD, Carlisle 4/31yds/TD, Alcorta 4/13yds, Wilmore 3/22yds, Swindle 3/12yds, Stoops 2/16yds, Carnahan 2/7yds.  Boles led all Tacklers with 5.  Whittemore 4, Swindle3, Carman, Brawner, Russell, McGlothlin, Lamb, had 2 tackles each.  Carlisle, Carnahan, Wilmore, Dillehay, and Doyle recorded 1 tackle each.

The MCJH Tigers will Travel to Gordonsville this Tuesday night to face their biggest challenge of the season.  Come out and support the Tigers and “I’ll see you at the game.”
