Tigers Claw Bulldogs 55-7

The Gordonsville Tigers hand Red Boiling Springs their second loss of the season. The Tigers would defeat the Bulldogs 55-7.

The Tigers scored early on a 30 yd touchdown pass to go up 6-0. The first drive for the Bulldogs started off with a 20 yard punt return by Spencer Tuck to 40 yd line, but they would have to punt it back to the Tigers. The Tigers then connected on an 83 yard touchdown pass to put the Tigers up 14-0. The Bulldogs next offensive possession quarterback Elijah Byfield fumbled and was sacked.  Gordonsville recovered the fumble for a touchdown to put the Tigers up 21-0 late in the first quarter. The next defensive possession for the Bulldogs showed a lot of passion, which shows this young team could be real good down the road. The 2nd quarter starts with a Bulldog defense stand.  Following a great defensive tackle by Bulldog Justin Bergdorff,  Dickens gets a fumble recovery to give the Bulldogs good field Position on the 50 yd line. After trading possessions, the Tigers would end the half with a 2 yard touchdown run. Tigers 28 RBS 0.

The Tigers would start the second half with a 30 yard touchdown run to go up 35-0 with 10:36 left to go in the 3rd quarter. The Bulldogs first drive was led by Michael Tirjan, but it wouldn’t be enough and the Bulldogs would have to punt the ball back to the Tigers. Gordonsville would connect on a 70 yard touchdown pass to increase their lead 42-0. The Bulldogs next offensive possession ended following a 1st and goal with a fumble in the end-zone recovered by the Tigers for a touchback.  Gordonsville would score again to make it 49-0. Following an onsides kick by the Tigers, the Bulldog Josh Tirjan recovered a blocked punt.  The Bulldogs next play was a 25 yard touchdown run by Bergdorff to get the Bulldogs on the board 49-7 with 8:51 left in the game. The Tigers would score in their last drive to end the game with the score 55-7.

Next week The Bulldogs will take on Cannon County at home September 13th so come out and support the Bulldogs.
