Goodpasture routs Red Boiling Springs

Goodpasture defeats Red Boiling Springs by a score of 35-0. This defeat drops the Bulldogs record to 1-5 for the season.

The first quarter would start off with three nice runs by Michael Tirjan two by Dakota Dickens to move the chains. Goodpature scores on a 60 yard run for a 7-0 lead with 8:31 left in the first. The next Bulldogs possession would result in a punt blocked for a Cougar score. Goodpasture goes up 14-0. Following a RBS punt, the Cougars get a touchdown run of 75 yards to make the score 21-0 with 4:03 left in the first quarter. On a Bulldog drive that saw them convert two fourth down plays, RBS fumbles and Goodpasture returns the ball for a score. Lead is now 28-0 with 8:20 left in the first half.

The 3rd quarter would start off with a good drive. Runs by Dickens and Tirjan and a pass from Elijah Byfield to Mason Hewitt looked promising. However, RBS would fumble the ball on the 16 yard line with 4:18 left in the third. Following a defensive stand, the Bulldogs would again drive the ball deep into Cougar territory but would fumble the ball into the end-zone to hand the ball back to Goodpasture.  The Cougars would tack on one more touchdown to make the final score 35-0 over the Bulldogs.

The key players on offense: Dakota Dickens had 16 carries 77 yards,  Michael Tirjan had 8 carries 50 yards,  Justin Bergdorff had 3 carries 55 yards.  On defense Wesley Fleming had 2 tackles and Bergdorff had 2 tackles. Next week the Bulldogs will be on the road against Clinton County, KY on Friday October 11th.
