Five suspects will be arraigned for various crimes before Judge David Durham in court on Friday, October 18, 2013.

Marty Oldham was arrested by the Lafayette Police Department on Thursday, August 22, 2013, after officers discovered two active meth labs in his parked truck near the parking lot of D.T. McCalls, across from Sonic Restaurant.

LPD Sgt. Shane Reed was on routine patrol when he spotted Oldham and he knew the male subject didn’t have any drivers license. After searching the GMC pickup truck, Reed found components used in manufacturing methamphetamine.

“I walked to the tool box on the back on the truck,” said Reed, “and when I opened it I quickly realized he was cooking the dangerous drug.”

Oldham was placed under arrest by Sgt. Reed and booked into the Macon County Jail on drug charges.

The Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force Response Team was called to take care of the clean up.

Bobby Ervin fled the scene of a domestic situation on the New Harmony Road around noon on Saturday, June 22, 2013. When the Macon County Sheriffs Office arrived, the female subject was still there and the two deputies found a pistol belonging to Ervin in the home, along with recipes to cook and produce methamphetamine. Ervin is a convicted felon.

Trousdale County Sheriffs Office apprehended the suspect in Hartsville and found that he was in possession of a AR 15 rifle and other weapons. When Sheriff Mark Gammons and his deputies returned to the New Harmony Road home they received permission to search and located a working meth lab, along with all the components used to cook the drug in a camper located in the yard. Along with the Trousdale County charges, Ervin was charged by the Macon County Sheriffs Office with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine manufacture, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

As reported last week Tobey Wettig will be arraigned for one count of aggravated assault and five counts of reckless endangerment involving a deadly weapon, after he shot Tommy Hillard near Hometown Foods on Thursday, March 14, 2013.

Kent Bolton and his wife Jennifer Bolton will officially be charged for a marijuana grow operation in the basement of their home on Willette Road. During the search officers of the Macon County Sheriffs Office discovered the elaborate operation consisting of grow lights, watering systems, grow tents, humidifiers, fertilizer, pruners, 53 seedling plants and 36 adult plants. Other drug paraphernalia was also found including rollings papers and a pipe.

The couple were both arrested and charged with manufacturing of marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A minor child was also located at the residence and the DCS was called to take care of the child.
