Sheriff Gammons Conducts Drug Sweep

According to Sheriff Gammons the cases involve the sell and or distribution of cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and numerous different types of narcotics, which were in pill form. “This is one of the many ways that the Sheriffs Office is continuing to fight the drug problems that face the county citizens and their children. We are dedicated to the fight against illegal drugs and keeping them out of our community.”

“I would like to thank all the deputies and correctional officers for their hard work on these particular cases in fighting the drug problem,” said Sheriff Gammons. “I would also like to thank the Lafayette Police Department and the Red Boiling Springs Police Department for their continued support in fighting drugs and with their help during the sweep.”

Chief Deputy Bryon Satterfield said during the sweep there was approximately 60 cases made concerning illegal narcotics. “Approximately 20 suspects were arrested, several vehicles were ceased along with other property such as money and cash.”

Those arrested so far are:

Stephanie Denise Newberry, (38), of RBS, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond was set at $4,500 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Dona Joy Desheles, (55), of RBS, is charged with simple possession. Bond is set at $1,000 and a court date is set for April 23, 2014.

Darrell Duane Taylor, (56), of Lafayette, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,500 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Sherri Denise McDonald, (45), of RBS, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Christopher Lee McDonald, (44), of RBS, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Candy Denise Long, (28), of RBS, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Laura Lee Keener, (40), of Lafayette, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $1,500 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Vicki Jean Hamilton, (53), of RBS, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Eddie Coulter, (59), of Lafayette, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $4,500 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Teddy Anderson Young, (42), of Lafayette, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Shana Michelle Rice, (24), of RBS, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Christopher Ryan York, (25), of RBS, is charged with simple possession and counterfeit controlled substance. Bond is set at $2,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Barry Edward Usry, (55), of RBS, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,000 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.

Sheila Ann Taylor, (56), of Lafayette, is charged with manufacturing of narcotics. Bond is set at $3,500 and a court date is set for May 19, 2014.
