Bulldogs Drop Two Close Games
This week the RBS Bulldogs lost two close ball games.
Near the end of their spring break they traveled to Clarkrange on the 4th ahd hosted Mt. Juliet Christian on the 5th.
On Friday the 4th the Buffaloes hosted the Bulldogs. Clarkrange would jump out to a 5-0 lead after 2 ½ but Red Boiling would tie it in the top of the third. However Clarkrange would plate 5 more runs and win 10-8. RBS would notch a season high 13 hits with Alex Mullinix and Brince Crouch both went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Crouch and Nick Deckard scored two runs apiece while Mason Hewitt, Dustin Bergdorf, Spencer Tuck, and Skyler Holder all scored runs. Crouch gets credit for the loss pitching 4 2/3 innings with 6 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 6 earned runs. Final score Clarkrange 10 RBS 8.
The Bulldogs hosted Mt Juliet Christian for a Saturday afternoon game on April 5th. The Saints jumped out early, scoring 2 runs in the top of the 1st and 4 more in the top of the 3rd innings. However, the Bulldogs woke up their bats and scored 3 in the bottom of the 4th and 1 in the bottom of the 6th. Chance Asberry gets credit for the loss pitching 3 innings with 2 strikeouts, 1 walk, and 4 earned runs. Nick Deckard pitched one inning and Cole Dziekiewicz threw 3 innings of relief. Deckard went 2 for 3 scoring one run while Mason Hewitt gets credit for 3 RBIs. The Bulldogs never quit but had too big of a hill to climb. Final score Mt Juliet Christian 6 RBS 4.
This week will be busy for the Bulldogs. They are scheduled to travel to Gordonsville on the 7th, host Gordonsville on the 8th, travel to Celina on the 10th, and play in a tournament at Clarkrange on the 11th and 12th.
