RBS Baseball Has Busy Week
The RBS Baseball team had five games scheduled this past week.
Unfortunately the Bulldogs came up short in all five of the contests.
On the 7th the Bulldogs traveled to district opponent Gordonsville. Cole Dziekiewicz got the loss pitching 5 innings giving up 6 earned runs on 11 hits. Dziekiewicz did all he could to help his cause, going 1 for 3 and plating the only RBI. Nick Deckard, Dustin Bergdorf, Brince Crouch, and Skyler Holden had the only other hits in the game. The Bulldogs lose by a final score of 1-8.
On the 8th Gordonsville traveled to Red Boiling Springs. Brince Crouch got the start and the loss while Logan Hewitt and Nick Deckard pitched in relief. The trio gave up 10 earned runs on 13 hits and had 10 walks. Bergdorf went 2 for 2 and scored the only run for the Bulldogs. Final score Gordonsville 13 RBS 1.
On the 10th the Bulldogs traveled to neighboring Clay County. Nick Deckard took the loss pitching 4 innings while Hewitt and Chance Asberry came on in relief. They allowed 4 earned runs on 10 hits and 7 walks. Bergdorf had another good game at the plate going 2 for 2. Deckard went 1 for 2 and had the sole RBI. Crouch and Dziekiewicz had the other hits for RBS. Clay County goes on to win 11-1 in 5 innings.
The Bulldogs traveled to Clarkrange to play in a weekend tournament. On Friday the 11th they lost to Clarkrange 1-11 in the first game. In the second game they came up a little short, losing to Onieda by a final score of 2-5.
This week it doesn’t slow down. RBS is scheduled to play at Watertown on the 14th and host Watertown on the 15th. They will host Pickett Co on Thursday the 17th and Monterey Friday the 18th.
