Tigerettes get Two District Wins

The Macon County High School Tigerettes got two District 8AA wins this week.


In three games they faced Livingston, DeKalb, and York.

On Tuesday the 8th Macon traveled to Livingston. Paige Clark was the pitcher of record and gets the win. Clark went 3 for 4, Mary Belton and Clara Howser both went 2 for 4 and scored two runs each. Jordan Shockley went 2 for 3 and had a home run. Tigerettes win 8-1.

On Wednesday the 9th DeKalb County came to Lafayette. The Tigerettes hot bats went cold and Shockley, MacKenzie Mercer, and Sarah Carter had the only hits of the game. Clark was pitching and gets credit for the loss. With five errors from DeKalb, Macon still plated a few runs. Final score was DeKalb Co 5 Macon 3.

The cold snap didn’t last too long. Brandi Garmon went the distance on the mound as the Tigerettes traveled to York Institute. Belton went 4 for 4 and scored 3 runs while Mercer was 3 for 4 and Clark was 2 for 3. The Tigerettes had 14 hits and scored 14 runs to end the game in 5 innings. Final Score Macon 14 York 2.

This week the Tigerettes will host Portland on the 14th, travel to DeKalb on the 15th, play at home against Gordonsville on the 16th and Cannon County on the 17th, and travel to Trousdale Co on the 18th to conclude 5 games in 5 days.
