9th Annual Ferrell Meador Apple Festival this Saturday
Beginning at 10 a.m., festival guests will enjoy cider making, apple sampling,live music, antique and novelty booths, horseshoe pitching, a corn hole tournament and craft demonstrations.
Entries for the Apple Recipe Contest must be submitted by 10 a.m. with categories to include Best Apple Pie, Best Fried Apple Pie, Best Apple Cake and Favorite Apple Recipe.
The Heritage Costume Contest will follow at 11 a.m., with participants asked to dressed in the clothes of yesteryear, or pre-1950.
Those attending the festival are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and a healthy appetite for the Old Time Dinner at noon.
Dinner will consist of pinto beans with ham shanks, coleslaw, cornbread, fried apples and your favorite apple desserts.
All events at the 9th Annual Ferrell Meador Apple Festival are free of charge, including the Old Time Dinner.
“Ferrell will have his apples for sale,” said Knollwood and White House co-administrator Beverly Walker. “And door prizes will be up for grabs. Booth spaces are free and are still available.”
