Bulldogs Win Homecoming 2014
The Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs beat Clay County 32-24 in fantastic game played by both teams.
The night was Homecoming for RBS.
The game started off with a kick return for 80 yards to put Clay County on the board first with the score of 8-0 with 11:47 left to go. The Bulldogs would begin their next drive on the 37 yard line and would end with Logan Hewitt completing a 23 yard pass to Mason Hewitt to tie the game up 8-8 with 7:56 left in the 1st quarter. The Bulldogs next drive would end in a touchdown run by Justin Bergdorff of 3 yards to make the score at 16-8 with 50.2 left in the first. Clay County would return a second kickoff for a touchdown 75 yards to tie the game back up 16-16 with 35.4 seconds in the 1st. Following a swap of possessions, both teams would swap fumbles. Michael Tirjan would intercept a Clay County pass for a pick six to put the dogs up 24-16 with 2:00 left in the first half.
The 3rd quarter would begin with Brennan Hammond returning it 75 yards to the 21 yard line for Red Boiling Springs. Michael Tirjan would take it 13 yards to put the Dogs up 32-16 at 10:25 in the 3rd period. Clay County would score on their next drive with a 6 yard pass to make it 32-24 with 7:05 in the 3rd. The 4th quarter was a defensive one with neither team scoring. RBS would beat Clay Co 32-24.
