alt

The Macon County Tigers fall to the Greenbrier Bobcats by a final core of 38-7.

The 9AA Bobcats came out on fire. Greenbrier scored 14 points in the first 5 minutes on runs of 67 and 60 yards. The Tigers did get inside the Bobcat 30 yard line but turned the ball over. Greenbrier would score 21 more to lead 35-0 at the end of the first half.

With a continuous clock due to the mercy rule, the second half went fast. The Tigers did make a stop which would result in a 37 yard Greenbrier field goal mid way through the 3rd. Macon would continue to try and improve and Tanner Cleary connected with Matt Austin for a 43 yard tourchdown. Noles kick was good and the final score was Greenbrier 38 Macon County 7.

For the game Dale Turner finished with 10 carries for 51 yards while Tyler Carlisle had 7 catches for 87 yards. Tanner Cleary did a fine job in relief of Seth Carlisle, throwing 8 of 14 for 88 yards and a TD. Brandon Graves led all tacklers with 7 solo tackles.

Next week the Tigers (2-3, 1-1 8AA) will travel and face district foe Cannon County (0-5, 0-1 8AA) in Woodbury. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
