RBS Fire Under Investigation

THP Trooper Justin Mote spotted the fire on Friday, December 26, and the Red Boiling Springs Fire Department got the call at 5:35 p.m. according to Fire Chief Randy Hagan.

“When we arrived the fire was burning in the right rear of the house where the fire originated,” said Chief Hagan. “We started fighting it by spraying through the rear window and doorway and we were able to keep it contained. The fire also started burning in the roof area but we extinguished it too.  However, there was enough heat in the residence to peel the paint off the walls. It was a total loss.”

According to the chief there was a mini van that burned there a couple of weeks ago. The Macon County Sheriffs Office was called to the scene of the suspicious fire and the State Fire Marshall’s office was also contacted.

The RBS Fire Department utilized a tanker and a fire engine with 14 firefighters at the fire site. RBS Fire Chief Randy Hagan was in charge of the scene.

The fire is under investigation.

Those responding to the scene were the RBS Fire Department, Macon County EMS, Macon County Sheriffs Office, and the Macon County Chronicle.
