Baseball Season Ends for Bulldogs

The baseball season ended for Red Boiling Springs this week in the first game of the 8A postseason.


This week RBS played Clinton KY, Clarkrange, and Macon County before entering the postseason.

On Apr 27th the Bulldogs traveled to Clinton Co KY. In a close game Chase Long gets the win pitching 2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 earned run. Chance Asberry came on in relief and pitched 5 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits. Cole Dziekiewicz went 1 for 4 with 1 RBI and Skyler Holden went 2 for 3 and scored one run.

On Apr 28th Red Boiling Springs hosted Clarkrange. The Bulldogs plated runs in every inning and ended the contest early. The final score is RBS 15 Clarkrange 5 in 5 innings. Bailey Chapman gets the win, pitching 3 2/3 innings, giving up 4 earned runs on 8 hits. Asberry pitched 1/3 of an inning and Holden pitched the last inning. Justin Bergdorf went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored while Dustin Bergdorf went 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs.

The Bulldog scoreboard must have looked like a pinball machine on Apr 29th as they lost a shootout to the Tigers. Justin Bergdorf went 3 for 5 and scored 3 runs with 2 RBIs. Cameron Cothron went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs as well. Long, Holden, Anderson, and Dustin Bergdorf all pitched for the Bulldogs and gave up 14 earned runs on 13 hits. The final score is Macon Co 16 RBS 11.

The Bulldogs faced Watertown in a play-in game to begin the 8A postseason. On Apr 30th they lost the contest by a final score of 1-12. Unfortunately this will end the 2015 season for the Bulldogs.
