Chevy Rolls, Woman Flown To Vandy

The wreck happened a little after 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning, July 17, around the 400 block of Boyd Road, which is between Tanyard Road and Union Camp, in Macon County.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol wreck investigator Trooper Cody Ballard, Kristy Stacey, of Lafayette, was driving a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer west on Boyd Road, when she lost control and struck an embankment, causing the Chevy to roll multiple times. The vehicle came to final rest on the north side.

Rescue was called to the scene to get Ms. Stacey out of her vehicle. She was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

“This is an on-going investigation,” stated Trooper Ballard.

Vanderbilt spokesperson, Ashley Culver, reported on Monday morning, July 20, that Ms. Stacey was still in Vanderbilt Hospital and she is listed in stable condition.

Responders included the Macon County Sheriffs Office, THP, Macon County EMS, Rescue, and the Macon County Chronicle.
