Lafayette Landing Now Under Construction
Located along Highway 52 By Pass West near the intersection of Ellington Drive and Highway 52 By Pass West, the complex consists of 60 affordable units, with three apartment buildings and a clubhouse. “The upscale apartment buildings are all three story and two of the buildings will be 24 units and then one will be 12 units,” said BACAR Site Superintendent Mike Goff, from Nashville. “We started in May and everything has gone very well so far with the projected completion date the end of January, first of February in 2016.”
There will be a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments along with several handicapped units in order to serve a wide range of family types. “The units will have central heat and air, dishwashers, and sheet rock walls,” said Mike Goff. “The floor covering will be carpet and vinyl in the wet areas and there is some ceramic tiles in the bathrooms.”
“The community clubhouse will feature an on-site property management office, a community room with kitchenette, and a fitness room,” said Goff. “The exterior is brick and siding that is similar to the apartments going into Gallatin, and the roof is a 30-year weather wood with dimensional type shingles.”
Goff says BACAR will do all the landscaping with trees down the main corridor. “This also includes the complex area paving and the tree-lined drive way entrance will be paved all the way to the Verizon parking lot with a sidewalk.”
“All the buildings are equipped with sprinkler systems,” noted Mike, “and all units are individually addressed, and if you have a fire in a particular apartment, they will know exactly which unit it is.”
Mayor Driver said, “The sprinkler system is a good safety feature and the Lafayette Fire Department will be more than capable of handling any problems at Lafayette Landing.”
“The City is really excited about having this nice apartment complex,” said Mayor Driver. “They are not only nice inside but the exterior is beautiful. This is how I would like to see all the apartments built here in the future, high end living with affordable rent.”
“Everyone has been very cooperative and it is a pleasure working with everybody up here,” said Goff. “I see no complications in keeping our schedule and I would say that they will begin taking applications for anyone interested in renting an apartment no later than November.”
Mike said that The Fortus Group, who owns the complex, does a really good job such as upkeep and managing.
“Lafayette Landing is something we have been needing here,” said Mayor Driver. “This high quality, modern housing will be a good place to live and a nice addition to Lafayette.”
“If everything goes well, we have room to expand,” concluded Mike Goff.
