Junior Tigers Get First Win of Season

The Macon County Junior High Tigers got their first win of the season at home over Winfree-Bryant.


The evening was a perfect night for football.

Macon opened the scoring. With 4:26 left in the 1st quarter quarterback Ethan Jenkins had a 2 yard touchdown run and the conversion was no good. Tigers led 6-0. With 1:30 left in the first half and the talented Winfree-Bryant offense on the march, Isaac Belton had an interception to end the drive. At the half Macon led 6-0.

The second half went back and forth but the Tiger defense seemed to get a little stronger as the game progressed. With 6:13 left in the 4th period Jenkins had a 70 yard pick-six interception and the conversion was no good to make the score 12-0 Macon. On the next drive with 1:48 left in the contest, Jenkins had a 6 yard run for a score. The conversion was again no good and Macon led 18-0. On the last play of the game Winfree-Bryant recovered a fumble and scored to make the final score Macon 18 Winfree-Bryant 8.

Macon County Junior High football will play Gordonsville on August 25th at home. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
