Macon Cross Country Opens Season

The Macon County Cross Country Team competed in the 18th Annual Macon Bank & Trust Invitational on August 22nd.


The meet has become one of the largest Middle School meets in the mid-state.

The high school teams both finished in 10th place. The boys had times of: Isaac Wakefield(46) 19:46, Eric Davis(61) 22:30, Freedom Nash(65) 24:12, Jacob Sewell(67) 25:54, Dustin Gann(68) 26:26, Wylie Dyer(69) 26:53, Oliver Dyer(70) 27:19, and Ben Ellis 31:51. The girls had times of: Taylor Cox(15) 22:26, Krista Perkins(32) 24:20, Mallory Owens(59) 27:56, Sidney Bowman(63) 30:08, and Mei Waldrond(70) 31:15. There were approximately 300 runners in the high school races.

The Macon County Junior High boys finished in 14th place. They had times of: Elliot McGuire(25) 13:33, Jared Hill(63) 14:41, Ryan Underwood(85) 15:51, Bryson Davinport(95) 17:10, and Dylan Smith(96) 17:34. The girls finished in 12th place in the meet. They had times of: Keelie Tucker(40) 16:20, Selena Rios(58) 17:20, Donovan Green(64) 17:51, Isabella Boxold(73) 18:56, Kyla Wakefield(74) 19:15, and Kaelan Tucker(79) 20:03. There were over 420 runners in the middle school division of the meet.
