Hewitt’s Body Shop…Three Generations
Josh Hewitt grew up in the body shop and when he got older he worked for his grandfather, the late Arlis Hewitt, who retired in 1999 and then his Dad, who took over when Arlis retired. “I worked for my Dad and my grandfather and I always tell people that I learned from the best,” said Josh when I talked to one day last week.
“During summer breaks from school, I would work at the body shop, sweeping or doing what I was asked to do,” continued Josh. “I remember when Hewitt’s Body Shop was first located on Church Street, then on Times Avenue and finally on Hwy. 52 By Pass East.”
“It was in my blood from a young age and after I graduated from MCHS in 2001, I began working full time in the family business and have been doing it ever since,” Josh said. “I hope to carry on the Hewitt tradition of good work and I am still doing body work, frame repair, and painting with PPG paint. I also have a state of the art down draft paint booth.”
Josh says that he can do work for all insurance companies. “I do everything that Hewitt’s Body Shop has always done, so stop by for a free estimate or call 615-666-2611.”
