Marisa’s Journey Sadly Ends

Several fundraisers had been held for her and the teenager, who lived in the Haysville Community of Macon County, had alot of followers who prayed for her recovery.

Marisa had a lung transplant on July 28, 2015, at the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburg, Pa., and she died there on September 25.

Funeral services for Marisa Wade will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Jerry Mercer officiating. Interment will follow in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service at 2:00 p.m.

She is survived by, mother & father, Alicia Wade and David Roark; brothers, Matthew Roark, all of the Haysville Community, and Jason Prior of Nashville; sisters, Celeste Summers of Lafayette, and Miranda Prior of Nashville; grandmother, Lee Ann Tillman of Lafayette; grandfather, David Wade of the Siloam Community; grandmother and grandfather James “Jamup” and Mary Roark of Lafayette; great grandmother, Sally Thompson of the Siloam Community; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
