Christmas Parades This Saturday!

The City of Lafayette’s ‘Candy Land Christmas’ themed parade will kick off at 1 p.m. and this year’s Grand Marshal will be 3-year-old Bradley Woodard. He is the son of Blake and Jennifer Woodard. 

The parade will begin at Tractor Supply, proceed up the by-pass and turn left onto College Street. The parade will travel up College Street to the square, entering the square at McClard’s Gifts. It will then proceed around the square and enter Scottsville Road. The parade will then travel down Scottsville Road, turning right onto Akersville Road to disassemble at the Assembly of God church.

Those participating in the parade should be in place no later than 11a.m. All judging will begin at 11 a.m., and will be completed by noon. The trophies will be awarded before the parade begins. 

Entries are to be lined up in the following designated areas:

Ben Bray’s parking lot: ALL ATVs, ALL Horse and Riders, and ALL Horse & Buggies. Please keep the horses in the grassy areas. 

Lafayette Church of God: ALL Antique Autos and ALL Antique Tractors 

Hwy 52 By-Pass at Sunshine Market: ALL Dignitaries, ALL Large Business, ALL Small Business, ALL Non-Profit/Church, and ALL Youth entries. 

The City of Red Boiling Springs Christmas Parade will follow at 6 p.m.

The theme of this year’s RBS parade is ‘Walking in a Candy Wonderland’ and it will begin at Nestle, travel from Hwy 52 East to Hwy 56 North, circle around in Palace parking lot, then go through town (Market Street), continue through historic district (Hwy 151), and conclude at Thomas House.

This year’s Grand Marshal is Macon County historian Randy East. 

RBS parade participants must be in line by 4 p.m. to be judged and entry applications will be accepted up until the day of the parade.
