Tigerettes Split Two Conference Games

04-19mchssb

In the march to the postseason, the MCHS softball program split two conference games this week.

They had Livingston and York both on the schedule for the second week in April.

On Apr 12th Macon traveled to Livingston and tried to grab a second win, having beaten the Lady Wildcats 8-2 earlier in the season. Jade Young only completed 2/3 of the 1st inning, giving up 4 runs (only 1 earned) on 3 hits. Allison Shoulders came on in relief and threw 5 1/3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits with 4 strike outs. Morgan Turner went 2 for 4 with an RBI while Makenzie Mercer went 2 for 3 at the plate. Livingston gets the 8AA win by a final score of 7-2.

On Apr 14th York mad the return trip to Lafayette. Macon had beaten York 8-1 the last week of March. The Tigerettes must have un-corked their bats as Turner, Mercer, and Cidney Woodard all went 2 for 4 from the plate and all scored at least one run (Mercer 2). Mercer also added a grand slam home run and 5 big RBIs in the game. Woodard went the distance in the circle for the Tigerettes scattering 4 hits and giving up 2 runs (one earned) with 4 strike-outs. Macon grabs a needed win by a final score of 11-2.

This week the Tigerettes are scheduled to play at DeKalb County on Apr 19th and host Cannon County on Apr 21st. Both games are scheduled to start at 5 pm.
