Rocky Mound Road Home: 30 Grams of Meth Inside
According to Sheriff Mark Gammons, Macon County detectives were surveilling 5837 Rocky Mound Road in Westmoreland for suspected drug activity, and officers were in the area when a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer made a traffic stop nearby.
Sheriff Gammons stated that one of the suspects in the vehicle attempted to flee and two remained inside the vehicle during the traffic stop.
“Upon speaking with them, officers learned that drug activity was going on at the residence,” he added. “When Detective Shane Gregory and Sergeant Kyle Petty arrived at 5837 Rocky Mound Road to further investigate, THP Sergeant Ashley Mercer met them at the scene and received consent to search the property.”
A search of the residence produced a handguns and handgun magazines, smoking pipes and a total of approximately 30 grams of meth located throughout the house – some in individual baggies, presumably for resale.
Convicted felon and home renter Jeffery Mayse, age 51, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Mayse’s three associates involved in the traffic stop had outstanding warrants in other counties.
Vonda Hardman, age 55, had a warrant for her arrest in Trousdale County and was charged with possession of a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule VI drug in Macon County.
Ashleigh Nichol Chandler, age 29, had a warrant for her arrest in Sumner County and was charged with possession of a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule VI drug in Macon County.
Kirk Patrick Carroll, age 38, had a warrant for his arrest in Davidson County and was charged with possession of a schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia in Macon County.
All four suspects are scheduled to appear to Macon County General Sessions Court on June 8, 2016.
