Macon Junior High Handles Winfree Bryant
The Macon County Junior High Tigers picked up their second win of the season at Winfree-Bryant in Lebanon.
Macon led the whole way and picked up a 36-16 win on Tuesday August 16th.
With 3:24 to go in the opening period Ethan Jenkins hit Austin Robinson for a 24 yard touchdown pass while Jenkins added the conversion and Macon led 8-0. Just before the end of the period Jenkins scored on a 15 yard run and made the conversion to make the score 16-0. After an Aviator score, Jenkins ran it in from 25 yards out and made the conversion to make the score 24-8 with 3:05 left in the half. Just before half Jenkins hit Ty Lowhorn with a 19 yard pass to score and at the half Macon led 30-8. Jenkins would tack on another 2 yard touchdown run late in the 3rd period and Winfree-Bryant would score one more time in the last period. Final score Macon 36 Winfree-Bryant 16.
Jenkins finished the game completing 4 of 5 passes for 102 yards and 2 TDs and rushing 7 times for 104 yards and 3 TDs. Skylar Haney had 10 rushes for 41 yards, Cameron Houston had 11 attempts for 30 yards and Landon Colter had 3 attempts for 4 yards. Ty Lowhorn had 3 catches for 78 yards and a TD and Austin Robinson had 1 catch for 24 yards and a TD. Logan Whittemore led all tacklers with 10 stops.
Macon will travel to Monroe County, KY on Tuesday August 23rd in their third game of the season.
