Macon County Junior High Travels to Monroe Co, KY

The Macon County Junior High Tigers travelled to Tompkinsville to take on Monroe County Middle School.

The Tigers improved to 3-0 with a 50-8 win over the Falcons.

Macon opened the scoring early. Ethan Jenkins scored on a 25 yard run with 7:25 left in the 1st period. Jenkins pass to Ty Lowhorn was good for the conversion and the score was 8-0. On the next series the Falcons fumbled and Jenkins scooped and scored freom 38 yards out. The conversion was good on a Jenkins to Cameron Houston pass and with 5:48 the Tigers led 16-0. With 0:59 left in the 1st quarter Jenkins hit Logan Whittemore for a 37 yard score. Jekins made the conversion and Macon led 24-0. Skyler Houston scored on a 40 yard run with 6:03 left in the half and the conversion failed. Jenkins connected with Whittemore again to score on a 58 yard pass and Lowhorn caught the conversion. The Junior Tigers led 38-0 at the break.

With the game well in hand a lot of kids got to play. With 2:35 left in the 3rd Landon Colter scored for the Tigers on a 4 yard run. The conversion failed and Macon led 44-0. With 3:26 left in the game Brady Books intercepted a Falcon pass and returned it to score from 39 yards out. Conversion failed and Macon led 50-0. The Falcons would tack on a score late and the final ended up Macon 50 Monroe Co, KY 8.

Jenkins finished the game 2 for 3 passing with 95 yards and 2TDs while he rushed 1 time for 23 yards and another score. Damien Aguirre rushed 4 times for 5 yards, Landon Colter ran 3 times for 49 yards and a TD, Skyler Haney ran 2 times for 60 yards and a TD, and Cameron Houston ran 1 time for 7 yards. Logan Whittemore caught 2 balls for 95 yards and 2TDs. Whittemore led all tacklers again with 6 solo tackles followed by Austin Robinson (4), Dawson Shrum(3), Wesley Carver (3), and Tyler Jones (3).

Macon County Junior High has their homecoming scheduled for Aug 30th at home against DeKalb County. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
