alt

The Macon County High School Girls Soccer team is slowly putting together an impressive season.

This past Tuesday night they travelled to Mt. Juliet Christian and to Upperman on Thursday.

Keeley Carter put the Tigerettes up early with a goal 2 minutes into the contest. She added goal number 2 at the 21:40 mark of the half to increase the lead to 2-0. Kat kemp added goal number three with 9 minutes left and that was how the score stood at the half. Carter would score goal 4 (34:00) and 5 (32:28) to complete the scoring for Macon. Final was Macon 5 Mt. Juliet Christian 0.

The game at Upperman was a district meeting and once again Keeley Carter scored the first two goals (30:00 & 20:00) Kat Kemp scored two goals (14:02 & 9:55) while Keeley Carter scored goals three and four (12:15 & 8:58) sandwiched around Kemp. At the half Macon led 6-0.  First year Coach Liz Spragens looked to shake her lineup a bit by switching where everyone played, but that didn’t stop the Tigerettes. Scoring in succession were: Lora Darnell(33:50), Bailey Porter twice(26:05 & 20:30), Mariana Avalos-Jijon twice (18:22 & 1:05), Jamie Ashburn(14:50), and Morgan Carter(4:28). Macon picks up a district win by a final of 13-1. Their record goes to 6-0-1.

This week will be a big one. The district home game against York was rescheduled for 2 pm on Monday Sep 19th and Macon will host Livingston on Tuesday Sep 20th for a contest that should have seeding ramifications in the post-season.
