Tigerettes Soccer Season comes to an End

alt

This week the Macon County Tigerette Soccer team ended their season in their post-season tournament.

On Monday October 10th they hosted an opening 8A-AA region contest against the York Lady Dragons. Keeley Carter score the first three goals (28’, 20’, and 17’) and Lora Darnell added a 4th (6’) to make it 4-0 at the break. With a lot of subs in the 2nd half that was how the game ended.

Next Macon would face Merrol Hyde in the semi-final game at Siegel Park in Murfreesboro. The Tigerettes had the luck of having their absolute worst game of the 2016 season on this night. The first part of the first half was OK but then the flood gates opened and Macon got blitzed. It was 0-4 at the half and ended up 0-10 while Macon got out shot 5 to 21 in the game.

The Tigerettes finish the season with their best record in five years at 11-2-1 and 3rd in the district (behind two private schools). Cat Kemp, Keeley Carter, Morgan Carter, and Lora Darnell were all chosen to the first team All-District squad. Sarah Carter and Jamie Ashburn were selected to the 2nd team and first year Coach Liz Spragens was named the 8A-AA Coach of the Year. Congratulations on a great season and this program could make some noise in the next few years.
