Lafayette Men Arrested in Hartsville

alt

Two Lafayette men were arrested in Hartsville last week on drug charges, and one is a fugitive from justice.

According to the complaint filed by Deputy Grant Cothron, of the Trousdale County Sheriffs Department, on Wednesday, November 2, he was patrolling on College Street in Hartsville, when he noticed a black car backed up to the middle school.

Deputy Cothron stated in the affidavit that he conducted a walk and talk on the vehicle that four white males were sitting inside, including the driver 19-year-old Dominique Aaron Strong and back seat passenger 26-year-old Steven Craig Frost Jr., both of Lafayette.

Mr. Strong told the deputy they were waiting to collect money from someone and when Deputy Cothron asked for consent to search the vehicle he was denied. K9 Kain was deployed to conduct a free air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle.

The deputy stated that a black pipe was found in the middle console and Strong admitted to smoking marijuana out of the pipe 3 to 4 hours prior. Also found was a large cup that contained a bag of green leafy substance, digital scales, and a pack of small clear baggies.

Dominique Aaron Strong, of Tuck Road in Lafayette, was charged with unlawful drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance with intent to resale. His bond is set at $20,000.

When Deputy Cothron checked Steven Frost’s drivers license, he found that Frost, of Courthouse View in Lafayette, had an active warrant out of Virginia. Virginia confirmed extradition and Frost was charged with fugitive from justice and possession of a controlled substance with intent to resale. His bond is set at $15,000.
